Online EPF Withdrawal Process: PF is an important saving scheme for people working on salary, which ensures financial security in the long term, or say after retirement. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) manages the PF account of the employee. In this, a part of the employee’s salary is deposited every month and during this time the employer of the employee also has to deposit the same amount in the PF account.
However, it is not necessary that the amount deposited in PF should be withdrawn only after retirement. Even before that the employee can withdraw funds from the PF account. Nowadays, the method of extracting it has become even easier. Any employee can also apply online for this sitting at home.
Apply with these easy steps
Step 1: Go to the official website of EPFO unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in
Step 2: Enter your UAN number, password and captcha code.
Step 3: After this you have to click on ‘Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C and 10D)’ under the Online Services tab
Step 4: From here you will be taken to a new tab, where enter the correct account number linked to the UAN and click on ‘Verify’.
Step 5: After the bank account is verified, you will have to agree to the terms and conditions specified by EPFO.
Step 6: After this you click on ‘Proceed for online claim’.
Step 7: Thereafter, from the drop-down menu, you need to select the reason for which you are applying for withdrawal from your EPF account. Here you will see only those options for which you are eligible.
Step 8: After selecting the reason for withdrawal, you will be required to enter your full address as well as check or passbook details, and if you have selected the ‘Advance Claim’ option, you will be required to enter a One-Time Password (OTP) for verification. The terms and conditions also have to be agreed upon before the request is made.
Step 9: After confirming the details and accepting the terms and conditions, you will be required to request an OTP, which will be sent to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar. On entering the OTP, your claim will be submitted.
You can also track the status of the claim
Once the claim is submitted, you can also track its status. For this, you have to login to the e-Seva portal account. According to EPFO, it generally takes 20 days to settle any claim or release the PF amount. If your money does not come in 20 days, then you can contact your Regional PF Commissioner. Apart from this, you can also complain on its website.
